The mission at our practice is to partner with patients to resolve their health issues rather than just treat the symptoms. Our goal is to use all the therapies available to help patients heal as quickly as possible.
Dr. Barnes was born and raised in St Louis. He attended St. Louis University, earned his medical degree at the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine, and completed his residency at Southern Illinois University.
Dr. Barnes became board certified in family medicine in 1999 and has been in practice for over 20 years. He opened Advanced Family Medicine and Wellness Center in 2010.
Aaron Garcia is a visionary and community developer, having founded a non-profit that obtained an entire school for a single dollar. At Advanced Family Medicine and Wellness Center, Aaron tends to his patients with individual-based practices that ensure both the utmost care and attention to their comfort and safety. Aaron has previously worked in Orthopedic Medicine and Surgery, as well as Emergency Medicine. When he is not caring for patients, Aaron enjoys cross-fit and spending time with his family.
Tim McCroskey is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. He attended the U.S. Air Force Academy and Walden University. Originally from Springfield, Missouri, Tim has worked in the healthcare field for 20 years.
Tim enjoys cycling and spending time with his wife, son and two daughters. Tim has a brown belt in Taekwondo and is a private pilot as well. He truly enjoys his patients and being able to contribute to their wellbeing.
Kevin graduated Benedictine College in 2006. He was a medic for the US Army from 2010 through 2016, before attending the Missouri State PA Program. Kevin enjoys being a Physician Assistant because it allows him to see a variety of people within the community.
Originally from Jefferson City, Missouri, Kevin enjoys spending time with his fiancé, and outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, camping and gardening.
Jenny was born and raised in Little Rock, Arkansas later to move to Branson, Missouri for high school. She attended college in St. Louis at Washington University then Barnes College of Nursing where she got her BSN in Community Health Nursing. She started working at Barnes Hospital after college then became a Cardio Thoracic/Heart and Lung transplant ICU nurse as well as an ER/Trauma nurse. She and her husband briefly moved to Illinois for three years as he became a doctor, later to move to Joplin where she’s been practicing for 20 years now.
Tambra is an RN specializing in Cardiac, Diabetes and Nephrology with an emphasis in General Wellness. For the past few years Tambra’s practiced in the Emergency Department in a local hospital. She also has worked with a local school district as a Health and Wellness Administrator. Tambra’s passion is helping others realize their health goals as their body changes and personal healthcare needs to be adjusted.
James was born and raised in Louisiana. He graduated from LSU medical center later to move to Joplin, Mo. In 2002. He started practicing medicine as a Physician Assistant in 1996. James says he got into medicine because he enjoyed helping people and felt he could make a difference.
